WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week beginning 22.01.24

Our Learning

It has been yet another busy week in Seals class. It has involved equations, landforms and understanding the effects of certain lifestyle choices.

English –

It has been 'Hot Write' week in Seals class, meaning the children have been very busy writing their tales of fear. The children have worked incredibly hard, drafting and editing their work carefully, to ensure they have written a story which is full of suspense and captivating to read! The final versions of their stories have been published and are proudly displayed on our classroom writing wall.

Maths -

We have continued working on algebra in Maths this week. It has involved formulae, forming equations and solving 1-step and 2-step equations. Algebra can be tricky to get to grips with but the children are loving the challenge and 'code breaking'!

Geography -

This week, we have continued learning about Canada's physical geography. This has included learning about the formation of physical features (such as lakes, rivers, mountains, bays and glaciers), and identifying and locating the seven physiographic regions of Canada, uncovering the various landforms which Canada has to offer. We will be learning about some of Canada's impressive 'natural wonders' next week!

Homework –

Children have been given a piece of Maths and English homework this week which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. The tasks have been explained in school, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to find me. Homework is due on Monday 29th January 2024
