  • Year 2 step back in time!

    Fri 15 Dec 2023 S Tague

Last week I had the pleasure in accompanying Year 2 Owls on their Victorian trip - Newstead Abbey at Christmas. The children were transported back in time to December 1869 which tied in with their Victorian history topic this term. Throughout the day our children were immersed in the Victorian era through activities such as: parlour games; the great hall; games with nanny, and making herb baskets. It was a fantastic day and the children were exceptionally well behaved throughout! Well done everyone and thank you to our two mums that helped out.

  • Year 5 Wider Opportunities Violin Performance

    Tue 05 Dec 2023 S Tague

Thank you to those parents that were able to come in today to watch the Year 5 violin performance. We know it's hard to attend events during work hours but we did have some parents watching via Teams! we are so proud of the children as they have only been playing the instruments for five weeks after spending the first half term learning musicship. Every year we give children in Year 5 the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. Last year it was the flute and clarinet and this year it is the violin. Well done everyone and thanks to Becks and Ange from the Derbyshire music partnership.

  • Children in Need

    Fri 17 Nov 2023 K Riley

We had a great day celebrating and raising money for Children in Need.  We all dressed up as our favourite hobby or in pyjamas.  We brought in a bottle top to represent our on-line donation and placed it on our giant Pudsey, each class helping to fill it up. We also did some children in need style activties in our classrooms this afternoon. We all had a great time.  Please see photos below.

  • High School Musical at Repton School

    Fri 17 Nov 2023 S Tague

Yesterday (16th November) our Key Stage 2 children were invited to Repton School to watch their performance of High School Musical. The show was incredible and yet again we really appreciated being invited to one of their events. Our children behaved perfectly and this was noticed by Repton staff and members of the public that were also watching. A huge thank you to those parents that were able to help us walk to and from the 400 Hall.

  • Reception visit from police officer Bob

    Mon 13 Nov 2023 K Riley

Our reception children received a visit from police officer Bob today.  They have been learning about people who help to keep us safe in our community.  Bob talked to the children about the role of a police officer and the different jobs they do to help people.  The children loved listening to him and asking questions.

  • Remembrance Day 2023

    Mon 13 Nov 2023 S Tague

Yesterday, our school was once again proud to be represented at Repton's remembrance parade and service. Lots of our children, past and present, marched to church with their uniformed organisations and some were even flag bearers. After the church service Harrison and Lily, from Year 6 laid a wreath on behalf of Repton Primary with Mrs Riley and I - they did a good job and represented our school proudly. Our school had been raising funds all week by buying poppy appeal merchandise - the figure raised will be shared later in the term when we know. Thank you to everyone from the RPS community that supported the 2023 appeal.

  • EYFS Balanceability Training

    Fri 10 Nov 2023 K Riley

Our Robins class received some balanceability training this week from the South Derbyshire Active Partnership. The children took part in different activties on the balance bikes.  Our coach taught the children to use "elephant strides" to power the bike forwards.  They also practised stearing through obstacles and gliding for as long as they could with their feet off the ground.  At the end, they played games and had a mini competition to put it all into practice.  The children had lots of fun and developed lots of skills and confidence!
