  • ECO Council

    Fri 30 Jan 2026 S Tague

ECO Council (and some stand-ins) have been busy this week. Yesterday we checked on the saplings that we planted before Christmas and we can report that these are showing signs of growth! We also placed home-made bird feeders on the trees in the outdoor learning area. Today we carried out a litter pick and the children did a great job of filling a whole bin bag up! On Monday the council are presenting an assembly about keeping our school tidy.

Yesterday our Year 6 House Captains and Eco Committee were invited to join the schools in the KLK partnership on a live online link up. Three UK schools were joined by three schools in Mombasa, Kenya as part of our ongoing partnership. We were joined by a special guest, called David, who has benefited from a scholarship from KLK. This enabled him to break away from the deprivation in his community and continue his studies and go on to college and university. He is now an electrical engineer in Nirobi. He shared his journey with our children and they were able to ask him questions.
