Our Learning
It has been an extremely busy week in Seals class. It has involved assessments, photo editing and fire safety!
We completed another practice round of the SATs this week. The Seals all dealt with this incredibly well and it is great to see the children making progress and feeling more confident. I am so proud of each and every one of them!
English -
In English this week we have been planning for our independent write. We will be writing biographies about a famous Canadian and have therefore spent time researching facts about the life and achievements of our chosen celebrity. Having conducted research, we then completed a formal, structured plan. We will write and edit our biographies next week.
Maths -
Our decimals unit of work has continued this week. It has involved multiplying decimals by an integer and dividing decimals by an integer. Next week will be the end of our decimals unit. After half-term, we will begin looking at fractions, decimals and percentages.
Geography -
We have been making holiday brochures in Geography this week, centred around our country of study: Canada. This task has allowed us to showcase our knowledge of Canada so far, whilst also putting our writing skills to the test! These are not all ready to publish yet but we look forward to sharing these with you once they are completed.
Homework –
Children have been given a piece of Maths and English homework this week which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. The tasks have been explained in school, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to find me. Homework is due on Monday 12th February 2024.
