WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/C 01.07.24

Another super week in the Owls Class! We have had lots of fun with our learning and really enjoyed our 'Move Up' day on Tuesday!

In maths, we have started our final maths unit: Position & Direction. We started by using the terminology 'up', 'down', 'left' and 'right'. Show someone at home:

We then looked at quarter, half and full turns. Match the picture to the turn:

We then started to use 'clockwise' and 'anti-clockwise'. Can you find a teddy or toy at home and show someone clockwise and anti-clockwise?

In English, we have continued with learning our new model text: Teddy's Adventure! This week, we innovated our model text. We chose a new main character and special item. What did you choose? We then rewrote the introduction to our story using our new ideas.

In science, we have started our last unit of work: Materials. At the start of the week, we named different materials and found objects made from those materials. We then tested the suitability of different materials. We explored how strong the material was, if it was wind resistant and whether it was waterproof. We then made conclusions, based on these results, on which material/s would be best for building a house. Can you remember which materials were best?
