WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 11th December 2023

Our last full week before the end of this term and the excitement of Christmas is over!  We have had the privilege of watching another Nativity, created our own Viking jewellery and thought lots about our Times Tables. Read on to find out more…

In Maths we have been looking at a combination of the 3 times table, 6 times table and 9 times table.  We have thought about both multiplication and division facts and also looked at some problems involving these tables.  Can you answer this question with your grown-up?

In English we have been looking at winter poetry.  The children focused on alliteration and similes.  We then created a Christmas word bank and the children wrote Christmas acrostic

In our Topic lesson we have created our own piece of Viking jewellery using card, string and tin foil.  We learnt about the intricate ways that Vikings created jewellery and how much skill and craftsmanship went into it.

We are looking forward to all of the Christmassy things we are going to do next week as well as the Puffins Christmas party.  Your child will have a slip in their bag detailing the party food contribution we have requested them to bring in.  These should be brought into school on the day of the party if possible.  Thank you for your kind contribution towards their party. Children may also come into school in their party clothes on this day.  But please ensure that they are suitable for school and for the weather as we will still be going out at breaktime weather permitting.

Thank you

Have a lovely weekend.

Stay safe
