Data Protection and GDPR

Data Protection and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR):
 

From 25th May 2018 the regulations and law around how we store, share and manage personal and sensitive data is changing. As a result, we are currently working hard to ensure that as a school we will be ready to meet these regulations when they come into force in May. 

 

The School and the Governing Body are registered with the Data Protection Registrar.
By law under the provisions of the Data Protection Act (1984) information may only be disclosed to authorised persons. All pupil information is confidential.

DCC summary guidleines on records retention periods, dated September 2016, state Primary pupil records be securely retained for the duration of the pupil's attendance at school.

 

Pupil Details:
The school holds records of all its pupils on a management information system, which is subject to data protection.
The records includes information about:

  • Name
  • Address and phone numbers
  • Date of birth
  • Health information (details of any allergies or chronic conditions eg asthma from which a child may suffer)
  • Next of Kin

Emergency contact details (the addresses and phone numbers of parents, grandparents, child minders etc. who should be contacted in the event of an emergency)
It is the responsibility of a child's parents/carers to keep the school informed of any changes which may occur. This can be done via the below form.
