WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week beginning 29.04.24

Our Learning

We have had another brilliant week in Seals class. It has involved adventure, electricity and Wonka chocolates!

English -

In English this week, we have been drafting and editing our adventure stories. This has been the longest piece of writing we have written so far this year, with some children writing over 3 pages worth of work! The children have all worked incredibly hard, trying their best to fill their stories with adventure, imagery, suspense and dialogue. We will finalise and 'publish' our stories next week.

Maths -

We have continued our geometry work this week. It has involved looking at the nets of 3D shapes, plotting points in all four quadrants,  solving problems with coordinates and translating shapes. We will finish our Maths unit next week, giving us a few days to do some fun revision activities!

Science -

Having drawn conclusions from our mould investigation, we were able to move on to our electricity unit of work in Science this week. So far, this has involved recapping our previous learning about electricity (what it is, how it is generated etc.) and understanding the history of electricity, including the importance of major scientific discoveries. We will continue our electricity work next week, with a focus on circuits!

Homework -

Children have been given a sheet of Maths homework to take home this week, which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. We also ask that they practise their spellings, times tables and read at home as much as possible alongside this.
