PTFA Duck Derby
Tue 13 May 2025Sunday was our annual PTFA Duck Derby race. Our community turned out in droves and helped make the event special. We were joined this year by St Wystan's so thank you to them. Thanks also to Repton School for allowing us to use their facilities and equipment. Huge thank you to our PTFA who helped raise £1000! Well done!

South Derbyshire Cricket Competition
Tue 13 May 2025Last Thursday a team of Year 5-6 cricketers competed in an inter-school competition at Hartshorne Cricket Club. There were 8 teams competing and we finished runners up losing by only 9 runs to a very strong Heathfields team. Well done boys and girls!

Repton Sports
Tue 13 May 2025Last week a group of Year 5s went to Repton School to take part in some sports hall activities with some Year 12 students. They did dodgeball and football and really enjoyed themselves. This is part of our community link with Repton and their Year 12s were amazing with our children. Thanks to Repton for the invite.

Reception Easter Bonnet Parade
Wed 02 Apr 2025Our reception children took part in an Easter Bonnet parade today. A big thank you to the parents and children for producing some amazing Easter bonnets. It was clear to see the thought and creativity that had gone into them. All of the children looked fantastic. The children enjoyed parading in the hall. More photos are on our Robins class page.

Swimming Gala
Tue 01 Apr 2025Yesterday, some of our oldest children took part in the annual swimming gala at Repton School. This event attracted 14 schools from the local area. We came 2nd overall which is an amazing achievement - well done to all the children!

EYFS Visit to St Wystan's Church
Fri 28 Mar 2025Our Robins class visited St Wystan's church this week as part of our learning about churches. We were hosted by the Reverend Steve who welcomed the children and showed them all of the features of the church. They were treated to the sounds of the organ and the bell ringing and were shown a variety of the vicar's robes. The children enjoyed their visit and learned lots.

Global Schools Kenya Link
Mon 24 Mar 2025Today, our Year 6 Seals linked up with the schools in the Global Schools partnership. The 4 Kenyan schools were the schools I visited last May whilst over there. Our children presented about our school and village and showed pictures of their homes. They also asked questions about life in Kenya and answered questions about life here. Three other UK schools also joined the meeting.

Y5 Sports at Repton School
Mon 24 Mar 2025On 19th March we took some Year 5 children to Repton School for some sports hall activities. Through the community outreach project, 4 Year 12 lads delivered fun and exciting activities based on cricket. We even took penalties against one of the football team goal keepers. Our children were brilliant and well behaved throughout. Well done and than thanks to Repton for inviting us.

Y3-4 Girls' FA Football Festival at St George's Park
Mon 24 Mar 2025On 6th March we took a team of Year 3 and 4 girls to take part in the FA's biggest girls' football festival at the home of England - St George's Park. The girls enjoyed some fun activities in the morning and then played competitive matches in the afternoon. They thoroughly enjoyed the activities and finished second in their group in the afternoon. After the games they met two Derby County Ladies' super stars! The girls' behaviour was perfect all day - well done.

Scooters Are Go!
Fri 28 Feb 2025The children have loved playing on scooters at playtime and lunchtimes. They have been very respectful and observed the safety rules. It has been lovely to see the smiles on their faces getting lots of exercise. Today, in the sunshine, playtime can only be described as busy. Children playing board games, scootering, trim trail, tyres, tag and other games.
