At Repton Primary School we follow the White Rose scheme for Maths. The aim of White Rose is to develop a culture of deeper understanding, confidence and competence within all areas of Mathematics. The mastery approach gives children full access to this subject and aims to produce strong, secure and independent learners.
Children will develop their fluency, problem solving and reasoning skills throughout the year and within all Units.
- Fluency – providing accurate answers using a set method.
- Problem solving – solving problems using mathematical resources.
- Reasoning- a skill that enables children to articulate the answers to problems.
