Sophia Fisher, School Governor, is a Primary School teacher with 18 years experience. She has worked mostly in the independent sector, specialising in Art and Computing and spent time across the majority of year groups. She spends most of her spare time sewing or visiting friends and family around the country. She is currently enjoying a career break to spend time with her two lovely girls, Olive and Ivy (9 and 2).
Paul Dawson - Chair of Governors and Chair of Finance Committee
Paul was elected to the governing board as a parent governor in 2018. He then became a co-opted governor from 2022.
Being a member of the Repton Primary School governing board is a role that Paul finds very enjoyable and he is enthusiastic about supporting the school.
Paul is a self-employed Independent Financial Adviser and has over 25 years experience working within the financial services industry.
Paul is married, has 2 children that currently attend RPS and 3 older step-children who also attended RPS all the way back to 2009.
Apart from staying busy with work and running around after the children, Paul also enjoys being involved in Ticknall cricket club during the Summer (often pulling pints behind the bar) and renovating his Mitsubishi FTO.
Phil Brindley, School Governor, is the Manager of an IT & Tech Recruitment company in Derby. I spend most of my spare time either playing tennis or cycling and recently played at Wimbledon representing Repton in the D’Abernon Cup. I have 2 children one currently at the school and one joining next year, Charlie and Evie (5 and 3).
Vera Boyes - Vera has been a Governor at RPS since 2017 and is currently the Vice Chair and Safeguarding Governor. She is now retired from a career over 30+ years in Child Protection social work, primarily working in the Family Court environment. Spare time is spent keeping busy with voluntary work, family, holidays and social time. I have two amazing grandchildren who attend the school. I really enjoy school visits and note how confident and happy all of the children are as they go about their day. I really feel RPS is a place they take pride in.
Ian Pollock - Chair of Achievements Committee. Ian was appointed to the Governing Body in late 2021, joining the Academic and Resource Committees in 2022. Ian is married with two teenage sons and was a parent of Repton Primary School between 2016 and 2019. Away from education his passions include cricket and developing Repton Swimming Club, where he acts as the club's Chair.
Phoebe Gargaro - Phoebe has been the LA Governor at the school since January 2023, and is a chartered accountant who works as a Financial Controller for a property development group. In her spare time, Phoebe enjoys hiking in the Peak District, circuit training, cooking, and socialising with friends and family. She has a personal connection to the Repton community as she attended school there, and finds her role as governor to be very rewarding.
