Our Learning
We have had an extremely busy week in Seals class! It has involved assessments, debates and drachma!
English –
We have started our new unit of work this week, which is discussion texts. So far this has involved comprehending the model text, identifying features of a discussion text and conducting research for our own discussion text.
Maths -
This week, we have continued learning about units of measure which has included converting miles to kilometres and using imperial units of measure. Next week, we will begin looking at ratio.
History -
This week, we have learnt about the economy of ancient Greece. We discussed the three main components of their economy (agriculture, trade and slavery) and identified what currency they would use. We discovered that ancient Greek coins were individual to each city-state and displayed important people/events. Using this idea, we designed our own 2023 coin for either Repton, Derby or the UK!
Homework –
Children have been given a piece of Maths and English homework this week which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. The best posters will be displayed around school and the classroom!
Homework is due in school on Monday 4th December 2023.
Unfortunately, one of the homework questions for some children printed weirdly. Please see below for help with this question:
