WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 6/05/24

Another sunny and busy week this week. Although it has been slightly shorter we still managed to pack in lots of things. It has involved editing and improving our Non-Chronological reports and looking at a Fantasy Story.  We have thought about decimals and money in Maths and digestion in Science. Read on to find out more…

In English, the children wrote, then edited and improved their Non-Chronological reports.  I have learnt a huge amount about many different animals this week.  All of the children took a huge amount of pride in presenting their reports and thought carefully about the information they included.  Well done Puffins.

In Maths this week Year 3 have been focusing on Monday.  They have converted pounds and pence and added and subtracted money.  Can you explain this True or False question to your grownup?

Year 4 have carried on with their unit on decimals.  They have done some very tricky work on making a whole with hundredths and tenths They have also thought about partitioning according to the tenths and hundredths and flexible partitioning.  Can you explain this True or False question to your grown up?

In Science we have thought about the different organs that are involved in the digestive system and what their role is.

We have begun planning our wire sculptures that we are going to create in Art, thinking about how we can add detail while still ensuring all of the wire pieces are attached.

We also had the opportunity to hear from Heather Wheeler on Friday morning.  She told us all about the life of an MP and answered some questions from the children.

I hope you have a lovely sunny weekend and that if you have sponsored a Duck it is the winning one!

Thank you

Stay safe
