WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

09.02.24

One week to go Foxes! What a busy week we have had!

In English, we started learning about Newspaper Reports, we looked through a WAGOLL and spotted the features, including, past tense, where, when, who, pictures, quotes and alliteration for catchy headings. Next week we are going to have a go at writing our own based on the recent Volcano eruptions in Iceland. We have already started our research.

In Maths, we finished our multiplication and division unit and started a new topic: Length and perimeter. Year 3 have been learning about equivalent lengths (cm and m) (cm and mm). Year 4 have learning how to measure in metres and kilometres.

In Geography, we learned about co-ordinates. We used a map of Iceland to investigate different locations and used the key to help us.

This week marks Children’s Mental Health week, the theme this year is ‘My Voice Matters’.  We thought about how it is important to feel that we can express our beliefs, opinions and views without feeling judged for them and how the voice of every child is important, whatever they have to say. The children created pictures detailing their achievements to celebrate the things that they find important for themselves and their own self-esteem.

This week also saw the return of Safer Internet Day with the theme of ‘Inspiring Change’. We thought about our Digital Footprint and what we put in it every week. As well as how we can ensure that our Digital Footprint is safe for us and everyone.

Have a lovely weekend!
