WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/C 10.03.25

A super busy week in the Owls Class this week!

In maths this week, we have completed a very short unit of work: length and height. We have been measuring in centimetres and metres and have been comparing and ordering lengths and heights. We have also been solving problems involving measurement using the four operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Show someone what you can do:

In English, we have been planning a persuasive piece of writing about why we should leave the crab alone. We have thought about our arguments and considered key vocabulary we can include to make our writing persuasive. Can you remember some arguments you thought of? We then wrote these later in the week. We included lots of key features such as suffixes (-er and -est), conjunctions, adverbs and questions. Well done, Owls!

This week, it has been Science Week! The theme this year has been 'Adapt and Change'. At the start of the week, we thought about the changes in the season and what this means for nature. We went out a built our own nests suitable for bird to nest in. What did you make your bird nest out of? We then explored how animals are adapted to suit their environment. We completed the camel foot experiment, where tested different sized objects on sand and decided which one would be more suitable for a camel. Tell someone at home what you found out about camel feet. We also explored life-cycles and created a pinwheel diagram of the life-cycle of a butterfly. We then finished the week by exploring the work for Jane Goodall. Can you tell someone at home some facts about this incredible scientist? Take a look at our pictures below...
