This week started off in a very different way with a D & T focus  day! The children all made fantastic space themed mechanisms. The determination from the children was admirable, due to this perseverance we have some fantastic models! Even if the mechanisms did not work straight away, nobody gave up! A fantastic effort Ravens. 

We have then continued the week with some Maths and English assessments, which the children have been very sensible about and gave a good try for each of them.  

We also celebrated Refugee week and discussed what this meant, we had some very mature, heartfelt discussions.  We linked National Writing Day with this theme and looked at the book 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan. This is a graphic novel, which is very emotive. We discussed what was happening and then used some of the pictures to help us write a poem. The outcomes were brilliant. 

We also had a fantastic afternoon on Thursday competing for our teams on sports day. The children were brlliant and gave their all with the different races and activties. Thank you for coming along to support us. 

What a busy week it has been! We are ready for a rest this weekend. We hope you have a great one.
