WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/C 25.11.24

Christmas is fast approaching and don't we just know it! We have a busy couple of weeks coming up. The children continue to work super hard.

In maths, we have been adding two 2-digit numbers that cross ten. For this, we used both equipment and our column method. We had to remember to exchange 10 ones for 1 ten...

The have also been subtracting two 2-digit numbers (not crossing ten). We have drawn our tens and ones to help us and checked our answers using the column method. How would you work this problem out?

We then moved onto subtracting two 2-digit numbers that do cross ten- this was a little trickier. We have to remember to exchange 1 ten for 1 ones... Can you show someone at home how we can do it?

In English, we have been learning our new model text, a non-chronological report. Can you tell someone at home what a non-chronological report is? Our report is all about Queen Victoria. Can you remember any of the facts you learnt? We have also been learning how to use subordinating conjunctions. Can you complete the sentences below:

a) I smiled because _______________________________________________________________

b) I am allowed to eat my ice cream if _________________________________________________

c) I will have a party when __________________________________________________________

In topic, we have been learning about a Victorian artist, William Morris. We designed our own wallpaper prints inspired by his designs. We then created our own by printing our designs. Can you tell someone at home how we did this? Take a look below...
