WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

13.03.2026

We have been thinking scientifically this week to mark Science week. The theme this year is all about curiosity and asking questions. We joined in with the science carousel where we went to different teachers and we joined in with lots of interesting activities. On Friday, we have thought about how we can tell how old a shark is? We gathered 2 sets of data - heigh in centimetres and age in months. We plotted this on a line graph and then we asked other children what their height is to see if we could use our line graphs to work out how old they are.

In English, we have started a new unit based around the book "The Diary of a Killer Cat". We have identified what we could tell about characters from their direct speech, actions, thoughts and feelings. We have also thought carefully about the correct punctuation for punctuating speech.

In Maths, we have been dividing one and two digit numbers by 10. We have recapped that to divide by 10, we need to move each digit one place to the right on the place value chart. We have also been looking at hundredths as fractions, which will lead on to looking at hundredths as decimals next week. The homework this week is on dividing 2 digit numbers by 10.
