I cannot believe that we have only 2 more weeks until the end of this year! The Hedgehogs are still working incredibly hard, but I know with the hot weather and the busy term that we are having that we are all starting to lose a bit of energy!
Before I talk about what we have been doing this week, you should have received your child's end of year report via Parenthub. Please take note that your child's Phonics Screening Score can be found on the page after the general comments, in a little grid. If you do have any questions, please just let me know.
Please look below to find out what we have been doing in our learning this week.
Maths
In our Maths learning, we have spent the week learning all about money. This week, we have learned about all the coins in the British currency. We have also learned about notes such as £5, £10, £20 and £50. We even had a go on Friday at making amounts using coins and notes too and we pretended like we were buying things from a shop! I have attached some photos of our counting towards the bottom of the Maths section.
Here are some challenges below which you can have a go at!
Identify the coins (in p and £)

English
In our English learning we have been continuing to learn about the Queen's Hat. We learned about how specific names of people, places, months and days of the week have capital letters, and so are called proper nouns.
We also learned how to use exclamation marks to show surprise and excitement.
We then wrote the story of The Queen's Hat using these skills. The children did an incredible job with this piece of writing!
Phonics and Spellings
In our Phonics learning, we have been learning about some more contractions this week. We have also been learning about how to read and spell the Months of the Year, Colours and Days of the Week.
Have a lovely weekend!
