Welcome back. We hope you all had a restful break. The children have returned with great attitudes, it has taken some of us longer to adapt back into school life than others, but we are all cooking with gas now!
This week we have concluded our multiplication and division topic in Maths, ready to start fractions next week.
In English, we started a new topic of Biographies linked to WWII. We have read Anne Frank’s biography as our model text for this unit, which the children found very interesting. We have also done some work on parenthesis (extra information) in our sentences. We have spoken about using commas, brackets and dashes for this. It would be great to see this in the children’s writing when we get to write our biographies.
In art, we have designed our monuments, and explained how to be healthy in PSHE, we all had great ideas.
We created choreography in dance which is our new PE topic on Tuesday and started some Yoga in PE on Friday, a nice calm way to end the week. We also had lots of fun singing Livin’ on a Prayer in music.
We are concluding our RE unit by reporting a report on our beliefs and learnt about online bullying in computing.
We have started our WWII topic, which the children loved. We created a timeline of events from WWII and looked at which countries were allies or axis.
Next week is Anti-bullying week so we will be doing some work on this and look forward to seeing your odd socks on Tuesday.
We hope you have a brilliant weekend.
