WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

22nd Nov

This week has been slightly different as it has been assessment week. The children have completed assessments in Maths, Reading and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPAG). They have all handled this really well and been very mature about it.

We have written up our biographies this week and done an amazing job of writing about the lives of Anne Frank and Adolf Hitler. We have included all of the features and created factual, exciting and interesting pieces of writing.

In science we learned about separating solutions through either magnet attraction, evaporation, filtration or sieving.

In RE we learned about the five pillars of Islam and how these could be applied to our own lives to help us live a better life. In PSHE we thought about how important our sleep is and how negative thoughts can often affect our ability to have a good night’s sleep. We then had a go at turning negative thoughts into positive ones and created positive affirmations.

In music we got the glockenspiels out to practise with ‘Livin on a Prayer’ and the Y5s had a brilliant trumpet lesson on Tuesday.

In Topic, we have focussed on Childhood in WWII times. We looked at different sources about children being evacuated and discussed how the children would have felt.  We have planned and written a letter to our Mother's and Father's about our experiences as evacuee children.
