Can you believe another week has passed us by! It is December at the weekend!
We have had another fantastic week, where we have been super busy as usual. In Science we have been learning about reversible and irreversible changes. In RE we focussed on the story of Bilal: the first Muzzein which helped us think about the first pillar of Islam: Shahadah.
In PSHE we used the acronym ‘SMILERS’ to help us think of ways to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The children had some fantastic ideas!
In Computing we started our unit on search engines and how to spot inaccurate information and had a very fun lesson involving chocolate burgers, tree octopuses and flying penguins. We are continuing our ‘Livin on a prayer’ song for music and the Year 5s enjoyed their trumpet lesson on Tuesday which involved them becoming a human orchestra! Their ‘dance by chance’ routines are coming along nicely for they Year 5's while the Year 4's enjoyed their first lesson back swimming after their 2 week hiatus.
Towards the end of the week we have been learning a lot about propoganda in WWII and the jobs that women did. A lot of the children were surprised that some of the womens skin and hair turned yellow from the chemicals in the munition factories. They were called 'Canary Girls'. Everyone is finding this topic very interesting!
Have a lovely weekend.
