WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week beginning 23.06.25

Our learning

We have had another fabulous week in Seals class. It has involved goodbyes, cafe culture and Boss Baby!

PSHE -

We have continued our 'growing up' unit of work this week which has involved: understanding the emotional changes experienced as young people go through puberty, understanding the human life cycle and knowing how to keep a baby safe and healthy, and recognising what seeking and giving permission (consent) means. The children have been approaching our PSHE lessons this term with great maturity which is lovely to see.

French -

This week, we have been learning about the cafe culture in France, particularly in Paris. We learned the French nouns for popular foods and drinks that can be purchased in cafes and created our own cafe menu which also contained the English translation of the foods and drinks.

Rehearsals -

We have had a busy week this week preparing for our end-of-year show. We are beginning to work through scenes without adult prompts which is very promising! We have also been busy making props for the show and look forward to using these in our rehearsals moving forward.

Homework -

Children have not been given a sheet of homework this week. Instead, we ask that they read at home and practise their spellings/times tables. It is also encouraged that they practise their lines/songs for the Y6 performance and learn the lyrics to our graduation/end-of-year song!

Spellings -

empathy

sympathy

biology

biosphere

geology

geothermal

photography

photosynthesis

chromatology

monochromatic

Dates for next week:

Tuesday 1st - John Port and Abbot Beyne transition

Wednesday 2nd - John Port and Abboy Beyne transition

Thursday 3rd - Water fight (PM). Weather permitting. Please send children to school with a towel and a change of clothes.

On Thursday or Friday morning, the drama club students will be having a dress rehearsal which the rest of the Seals class will go and watch. I am waiting for confirmation on which morning it will be but will update you via ParentHub as soon as possible.

I hope the children enjoy their transition days next week - Good luck everyone!

Have a brilliant weekend,

Miss Bailey
