WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

28.03.2025

This week, the Otters have been busy writing persuasive letters, learning about Pele and comparing life cycles!

In English, we have turned our knowledge of the rainforests into a persuasive letter about stopping deforestation using persuasive devices. The Otters did a brilliant job of using hyperbole, fact, opinion plus many more features to create some powerful pieces of writing!

In Maths the Year 4s have... .The Year 5s have been finishing off their decimals and percentages unit by looking at equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. After their assessment, they moved on to perimeter and area by finding the area of rectangles and rectilinear shapes.

In Topic, we loved learning about Edson Arantes do Nascimento aka Pele! We then created biographies about him. We also looked at the progression of the Brazilian flag and how it's changed over time. We are almost finished with out 'Brazil' topic and I know the children have loved learning about this wonderful country!

In our other lessons we have compared life cycles in science, learned to play 'We will rock you' in trumpets, played cricket in PE and carried on learning about Ramadan in RE.

Next week is Miss Hobbs first week back so I will be handing the weekly updates to her.
