Our Learning
We have had another fantastic week in Seals class. It has involved stereotypes and syllables!
English -
We have continued to focus our writing around our Mombasa, Kenya stimulus this week. At the beginning of the week, we editing and published our diaries/letters from last week, ensuring they were to the highest possible standard. For the rest of the week, we have been learning about and writing cinquain poems. The children all produced at least 3 inspiring poems and presented at least one of these to the class which was excellent!
Maths -
This week's Maths lessons have been centred around revision. This has involved revising fractions methods, percentages, decimals, long division, measurement and much more!
Science -
Following our retests towards the end of last week, we were able to make accurate and trustworthy scientific conclusions in our books this week. We also completed our end of unit assessment as we have now completed our electricity unit of work. We will now move on to our first STEM project of the year: Buzzer games!
Homework -
Children have not been given a sheet of homework as we would like them to focus on revising their areas of need before the SATs are here. We also ask that they practise their spellings, times tables and read at home as much as possible alongside this.
