This week we have completed our spring assessments and the otters have all worked hard and tried their best. Well done, Otters!
In English we have got back to the Kapok tree and they’ve all loved getting back into the story. They have been writing direct speech as the animals and finding persusive features in the book and letter from Lynne Cherry. Next week they will be writing their own persuasive letters.
In maths the year 4s have been continuing to convert between proper and improper fractions and the year 5s have been showing percentages as fractions and decimals.
In topic the children completed their information texts on carnival and they did a brilliant job pairing information with beautiful presentation. They also learned how to make feijoada and wrote recipes!
In computing they planned their stop motion animation videos for next week. In RE they completed their Ramadan wheels and in Music they continued their rapping. They also started their cricket unit on Thursday with Miss Hobbs. In Science, they looked at life cycles; finally, in PSHE the Otters looked at banter and the thin line between banter and bullying.
Have a lovely weekend!
