Our Learning
We have had another great week in Seals class. It has involved careers, electricity and Wonka chocolates!
English -
We have moved onto a new stimulus in English this week. Our next unit of work will be based around Mombasa, Kenya, which is where the schools participating in the Global Schools Project are located. So far, we have produced non-chronological reports, diary entries and persuasive letters!
Maths -
We have continued our geometry work this week. It has involved plotting points in all four quadrants, solving problems with coordinates, translating shapes and reflecting shapes. We will spend next week's Maths lessons consolidating our learning from the year.
Science -
We have conducted yet another experiment in Science this week! This time, we investigated whether wire length affects the way components in a circuit work. We took time to plan our investigation (considering resources, method, variables and more) and made predictions, before conducting the experiment. Later in the week, we discussed the 'Degree of Trust' and conducted a retest to ensure our results are reliable enough to make trustworthy scientific conclusions.
Homework -
Children have not been given a sheet of homework as we would like them to focus on revising their areas of need before the SATs are here. We also ask that they practise their spellings, times tables and read at home as much as possible alongside this.
