It has been a jam packed week for the Otters this week!
In Maths, we have continued to learn about place value. We have partitioned numbers to 10,000 and we have looked at 1, 10, 100 and 1000 more or less. We then looked at numbers on number lines to 10,000 and moved on to estimate on number lines.
In English, we have been working on our book "Daisy's Dragons". We have worked on collecting and up-levelling vocabulary. We then looked at how to punctuate speech correctly and thought about speech that we could write which reflected each of the emotions in the book.
We have started to delve into Anglo-Saxons and this week we have been using timelines to show key events. We also focused on the conflict in those times and how England came to be split into the seven kingdoms.
In Computing we started our unit by having a class discussion about how to be safe online and signed our Online Safety Agreement. It was also a brilliant, sporty week with their first swimming lesson and the event at Repton Prep. They did brilliantly at both and we were all very proud!
In PE, we are working on Netball this term. We started this week with landing 1, 2 and how we can use pivoting to help us when passing the ball. In RE, we have thought about people who inspire us and we had a very thoughtful discussion about our own "wow" people.
Thank you very much for providing the children with a toothbrush and toothpaste for our Science lesson this week. We learnt about the importance of brushing our teeth and how to brush our teeth effectively. The disclosing tablets helped us to see where we are brushing our teeth well and highlighted the areas that we might need to focus on a bit more.
