WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

24.10.2025

This week in Maths, we have started our topic on area. We have been counting squares to find the areas of shapes and we built on this by drawing shapes with given areas, still counting squares to help us.

In English, we completed our non-chronological reports on the dragons that we created.

We have finished our Anglo-Saxon unit ready to start Vikings after half term. We looked at Anglo-Saxon art, created Illuminated letters for our names and reflected on the whole unit and recapped our learning. It’s clear they have learned so much and enjoyed the unit. In P.S.H.E we thought about their dreams for the world and completed dream jars and how they would change the world. Swimming this week was our fun week and they all had lots of fun using the floats. Don’t forget that the Tuesday we come back (4th) is safety week so please send them in with their short-sleeved pyjamas.

In PE, we played some indoor netball games (due to the weather) where we applied the skills that we have learnt in netball over the last few weeks. In RE, we considered why Jesus is important to Christians and in Science, we looked at the teeth that different animals have and we thought about why their teeth were do different depending on whether they were carnivores, omnivores or herbivores.

We have not set homework for this week. We would like you all to continue learning the spellings, multiplication tables and reading please. Please remember that the more you go on times tables rock stars, the better it will learn what you are more or less confident with and will provide targeted questions to help fill in those gaps.

It has been such a wonderful first half term in Otters. We hope that you all have a lovely half term holiday.
