We have really enjoyed spending time to get to know Mrs Hucker this week.
In Maths, we have continued with multiplication and division. We have been exploring factor pairs which we have then gone on to use to help us to work our more tricky multiplication questions. We have also started to look at multiplying numbers by 10. We will continue with this next week where we will also learn how to multiply by 100.
In English, we have started a new unit on narrative writing which is based on a video clip of a Viking village. We have thought about using our 5 senses to describe. We have also looked at main and subordinate clauses. We were given some main clauses and we needed to use the subordinating conjunctions to add more detail. We have also been looking at fronted adverbials again. We still need to keep remembering to include a comma after a fronted adverbial. We have been having a go at moving the position of the subordinate clause in sentences.
In topic, we have been looking at the beliefs of the Vikings and we have been looking at some ok the many gods and goddesses that they believed in. We have also been looking at Viking jewellery.
In PSHE, we have continued to think about changes. We considered some of the emotions that we might feel if we were to move to a new school or a new class. We watched a clip from "Inside Out" and we thought about Riley's walk to her new school for the first time.
