WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

WC: 12/1/26

What a great week we’ve had ☺️ read below to see what we have been up to...

English

This week in English, we have been looking at using prepositions in our writing and how these can be incorporated into the story of The Magic Finger. We then went onto writing about a transformation- how the ducks transform into humans and how the Greggs transform into birds.

Maths

This week we have started looking at perimeter. We used squares to count around the outside of a shape and then looked at adding the length of the sides to calculate the total perimeter. We even went onto looking at the perimeter of irregular shapes.

Geography

This week we have looked at the structure of the earth and discussed what each part is made up of. We discussed tectonic plates and came up with hand movements to describe how earthquakes and volcanoes are created. The children then had to order jigsaw pieces to show what the tectonic plates look like across the world.

Science

In Science we looked at different light sources. We sorted objects into 'sources of light' and 'not sources of light.' We then discussed why some objects are not light sources, such as the moon.
