What a fantastic first week we've had in Kingfishers! The jump from Year 2 to Year 3 can be a tough one but all the children this week have worked really hard.
Maths
In maths we have started our place value topic. This week we have been looking at numbers from 100-1000. We have looked at partitioning different numbers into hundreds, tens and ones using a place value grid. We also looked at whether we could plot numbers on a number line.
English
We have started our English topic this week on setting descriptions. Our book is 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura. This week we have looked at the structure of the story, identifying the sequence of events and making predictions based off images.
History
In history, we have started our topic on the Stone Age. We have looked at the different lifestyles seen in the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods.
