We have had an action-packed week this week with lots of acting, lots of new sounds in our Phonics, and even a school trip! Look below to find out what we have been up to!
Maths
In our Maths learning, we have been continuing our work on comparing numbers. We started by looking at the crocodiles from last week and how we can compare numbers using these. We also had a go at some tricky problems to do with the crocodiles. Here is one below! What numbers could go in this number sentence?
We have also learned how we can order numbers too. We learned that we can order numbers from smallest to greatest and how we can also order numbers from greatest to smallest. Have a look at these objects below. How have they been ordered?
English
In our English learning this week, we have been learning about time conjunctions. We have been learning how we can use words such as first, next, then, after that and finally to sequence pictures. We then also wrote sentences about the story of Oi! Get off our train! using these words. We then had a mini practise at writing some sentences from the story of Oi! Get off our train using adjectives. Next week, we are planning on creating our own stories based off Oi! Get off our train!
History
In our History learning, we looked at how jobs have changed over the 100 years because of technology. We looked at the example job of police and how they have new technology to help them with jobs. We compared how police have changed from the past to the present. We even learned how to finger print like the police did when fingerprinting was created over 100 years ago!
Our trip to the Museum of Childhood was really good. The children behaved beautifully and we had such a good time investigating and exploring what it was like for children in the past. Thank you to those parents that assisted us during the trip, we really appreciate it! You can find photos of our trip below!
Phonics and Spellings
This week in our Phonics we learned three new split digraphs! We learned e_e, i_e and o_e. These are quite tricky concepts but the children have done really well to learn these this week. I have set some spellings to help practise the split i_e digraph this week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! I look forward to seeing you all next week during our Parents Evening consultations.
