We have had a lovely, but short week in Hedgehogs! The children have worked so hard this half-term, and I am incredibly proud of them all.
As we have had a shorter week than normal, including a great trip to the Jamia Mosque on Thursday morning, there won't be much learning below, but have a look to see what we have been up to.
Maths
In our Maths learning, we have been started our new unit of 'Addition and Subtraction to 20'. We started our learning by learning how to use a number line and a ten frame to add numbers together. Can you add the numbers below by either using a ten frame, or a number line.

English
In our English, we finished off our African-inspired stories. The children produced some fantastic stories, and you can really see the progress in the children's writing.
Geography
In our Geography lesson, we have combined all our learning so far in Geography to create our own sketch maps. The children created an imaginary map of Mombasa, by using clues to help them. The children had to plot pictures on a map of Mombasa, and create a key to accompany the map. Look below at the following clues, and the map of Mombasa. Can you work with a grown-up to find out where all the different places would go on this map?

Art
In Art, we finished off our unit on painting by creating our own Clarice Cliff style plates. The children painted concentric circles on a paper plate, using primary and secondary colours. On Thursday, the children used black paint to add a tree to their plate to imitate the Clarice Cliff style design.
Phonics
In our Phonics, we have been learning the ear trigraph, and how it can make the /ear/ sound and the /air/ sound.
Religion
Throughout this term, the children have been learning all about Islam. On Thursday, the children went on a morning trip to go visit an actual mosque. The children behaved beautifully and were great role models throughout the whole trip. A big thank you to all the parent helpers that came and helped with the trip, we really appreciate it! Here are some photos of our trip below!
Have a lovely, safe half-term and I look forward to seeing you all on the first Monday back!
