Our learning
Another week has flown by in Seals class! It has involved interviews, evaluations and transition letters!
English -
This week, the Seals have been writing and editing their discussion texts. They have written well-balanced arguments and considered various viewpoints in their writing. There have been many interesting debates explored in their pieces of work from voting at a young age to keeping exotic pets as animals!
DT -
Having completed our buzzer games, it was time to evaluate! We evaluated our finished buzzer games against our agreed design criteria, considering the strengths and weaknesses of our games. We thought carefully about every step of the process (including the researching and designing stages), focusing on what we do differently in the future if we were to complete this STEM project again. Once the children had reflected on how the process was for themselves, they completed a peer evaluation. They had to rank the durability, appearance, functionality and difficulty of a peer's buzzer game, scoring each area out of 5. Additionally, they had to write a positive comment, highlighting what their peer had done well and give constructive feedback, stating what could be better next time.
Rehearsals -
Our rehearsals are in full swing now and it is great to see the show coming together. We are quickly learning our lines and stage directions and gradually building confidence on the stage. We will turn our attention to songs, choreography and props next week!
Homework -
Children have not been given a sheet of homework this week. Instead, we ask that they read at home and practise their spellings/times tables. It is also encouraged that they practise their lines/songs for the Y6 performance
