WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

03.10.25

We have reached the end of another super busy week in the Foxes’ class!

In English this week the children have published their children’s story books! They have worked hard to consider their presentation as well as create beautiful illustrations to sit alongside their stories. I have been so impressed with the work that they have produced and I hope that they are equally as proud! Please see some of our front covers below!

In Maths, the Year 6s have continued learning about the four operations this week, with a focus on multiplication. This has involved multiplying a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number and using alternative methods for multiplication.

The Year 5s have continued their place value unit of work this week which has involved rounding 100,000 and rounding within 1,000,000!

In History we have continued learning about the Tudor family. This week, we looked at the Tudor family tree and learnt about how the family members were related. We then went on to analyse some of the Tudor family portraits, looking in detail at what the colours, posture, objects and clothing could suggest about the person in the portrait. Some children even used their comparing and contrasting skills to look at the similarities and differences between two different portraits!

Black History Month

Today the Year 5s joined in with Picture News' Black History Month special assembly. They were joined by Radio 1 presenter Swarzy Macaly to explore this year's theme: 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride'. All the children were incredibly respectful and mindful during this PSHE session.

Homework –

Children have been given Maths and English homework this week which relates to what we have been learning about in school. The tasks have been explained in class, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Homework is due in school on Tuesday 7th October.
