WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

04.07.2025

It has been an exciting week in school this week whilst we have been thinking ahead to next year with our day in our new classes on Wednesday. We have also been very impressed with how brilliant the Year 5 children were in their trumpet concert on Tuesday.

In English this week, we have been thinking about the arguments for and against the fox stealing the moon. It has been great to see how the children have thought carefully about the learning that we have done in Science to strengthen their points. Together, we have written an introductory paragraph for our balanced arguments. Next week, we will move on to write our paragraphs for and against.

In Maths in Year 5, we have been continuing our learning on decimals. We have been adding and subtracting numbers that have different amounts of decimal places. This has been tricky but we have been working really hard to make sure that we keep our numbers in line when we put these into the column method. We know that the decimal point must always be in the same place! In Year 4, we have been working on statistics. We have drawn line graphs, interpreted and drawn bar charts and plotted coordinates.

In DT, we have now completed our final designs for our moving space models ready to get started with making them next week. IN PSHE, we had some very sensible and mature conversations around weddings and marriage. In PE, we have been working on our fielding skills for rounders.
