WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

14.03.25

It has been a super busy week in Foxes class this week! The Easter holidays will be here before we know it!

This week was British Science Week and the theme was ‘Adapt and Change’. We have enjoyed doing extra Science lessons as well as lots of exciting Science activities! Year 4 focused on adaptation and evolution where we looked at the adaptations animals have to help them to survive in their habitats and the evolution of humans over time.

Year 5 focused on the changes from childhood to adulthood and conception to old age. On Wednesday, we went off timetable, visiting different classroom and did a carousel of activities including re-purposing old t-shirts, writing secret letters, designing inclusive playground games and learning about animal adaptations.

In Maths, Year 4 have continued learning about fractions, including some tricky concepts such as mixed numbers and improper fractions. The Year 5s have done lots of rounding decimals and understanding percentages.

We also started our assessments at the end of the week with a reading paper. The assessments will continue next week with grammar, spelling and maths.

On Thursday afternoon, we visited the 400 Hall at Repton School where the children watched an amazing performance of ‘The Addams Family’, all the children were very well behaved and they had a wonderful time!
