WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Forest Time

30.1.26. This week we explored numbers 6, 7 and 8 in the forest. We collected 6 objects and placed them on the 10 frame on the floor. We talked about how we knew there was 6, eg I see a 3 and a 3. We then repeated the exercise with 7 and 8. The children have really developed so,e good understanding about these numbers this week and their composition.

16.1.26 - We made maps this week in Forest Time. The children found a piece of natural 'treasure' such as a brick, log or pinecone, hid it in the forest floor and then marked it with an X marks the spot on their map. We then talked about our maps and the route around the forest to get to our treasure. Their maps looked amazing and show that the children have really understood the concept of maps during the last couple of weeks, and have consolidated their learning and applied it in a real life scenario.

7.11.25. In the forest today we went on an autumn hunt! 🍂

24.10.25. In Forest Today we explored hibernation in Autumn. We all made a comfy den or nest for the forest animals to hibernate inside over autumn and winter.

10.10.25. In Forest Time today we explored matching and sorting by sorting natural objects by type. We found large and small, green and yellow and objects that were rough and smooth. We then enjoyed a story and hot chocolate.

In Forest Time today, we explored the forest for the first time, learned all about keeping safe, had a hot chocolate and enjoyed collecting lots of things from the forest floor.
