This week we have been learning all about telling the time in maths! We have focused on o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. For some children, this was a good refresher from their Year 1 learning and for others, it was new learning. Help your child to tell the time at home by asking them what the time is and by letting them know that I have assigned some time quizzes on MathShed. Next week, we will move onto telling the time to five minute intervals and converting minutes to hours and minutes.
In Science, we have continued learning about the unit 'Living Things and their Habitats' and have started to apply our knowledge on habitats to create a 'shoebox habitat'. We will continue working on these next week... pictures to follow upon completion! We've also learned about food chains and created our own food chains using plants and animals of our choice.
Finally, in Computing, the children continued to learn about animation and created their own animations using Stop Motion. They moved images very slightly before taking still frame shots on the iPad. The Stop Motion application that we use in school then put all of the children's still images together to make an animation. The children were very imaginative with their stories and some even put sound effects to their animations!
Another busy but successful week has flown by and there's more excitement to come next week, especially with our Woodland Adventure that we've been invited to! More details to follow on this next week.
