One week left to go, Kingfishers! See what we have been up to...
Maths
In Maths we have been working hard on fractions and putting our skills to the test. We have been working hard to answer reasoning questions on fractions of amounts. See some example questions below:
English
This week we have been writing a set of instructions on 'How to make the perfect hot chocolate.' We worked hard to add time adverbials, imperative verbs and adverbs to our instructions.
We used pictures to orally describe our instructions and then the children wrote them independently.
Geography
We learnt about whaling in Iceland and discussed why this is such a big issue. We looked at some devasting affects of whaling and the children asked some really important questions.
These are fin whales. Only 16,000 of them are left in Iceland's seas. There are only 100,000 fin whales left in the whole world.
In 1982, environmentalists argued to ban whaling in Iceland. Whilst numbers of whaling have reduced, it is still a massive problem in countries such as, Iceland, Norway and Japan. We created posters highlighting the issues of whaling and how it is effecting the world around us.
