WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/C 28.04.25

We've had a busy week this week learning about habitats in Science, planning our newspaper reports in English and completing our 'money' unit in Maths.

We carried out an experiment in science called 'The Blubber Glove Experiment.' The 'glove' was made using lard and it helped us to understand how blubber acts as an insulator for animals living in the Polar Regions. Firstly, we dunked our bare hands in a bowl filled with ice cubes and cold water for twenty seconds. After that, we put the 'blubber glove' on and repeated the test. We compared how cold our hand felt with and without the blubber glove. The children were able to write some great conclusions using scientific vocabulary such as 'insulator' and 'habitat'.

Well done for another super week of hard work and showing kindness towards each other, Owls! Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and I shall see you on Tuesday.
