WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

WC: 30/6/25

Only 3 weeks left to go! This week Kingfishers had transition day where they met their new teachers and spent a day completing fun activities. Read below to see what else we have been up to:

Maths

This week we have been looking at 3D shapes and their properties. We spent time discussing different shapes that the children knew and even built our own using nets. This helped us to visualise the shapes and count their faces, edges and vertices. We then looked at a range of 3D shapes and spent some lessons counting these properties and comparing them to other shapes.

English

We have continued learning about persuasive letters and looking at how we can use our learning to create our own. We looked at using rhetorical questions, the four sentence types (statement, command, questions and exclamations) and suffixes to develop the capacity of our work. We have started writing a draft of our letters and have even included hyperbole!

PE

In PE this week we have been developing our rounders skilled and we played a fantastic game, making the most of the nice weather. We had some brilliant hits and even managed to score a few full rounders.

Spellings- thoughtful, hopeful, careful, fearful, mindful, thoughtless, hopeless, careless, fearless, mindless.
