Even though this has only been a four day week, it has been very busy! Read below to see what we have been up to!
English
This week we recapped our knowledge on David Attenborough and created posters on him to help us with your learning.

On Wednesday we completed our biographies. We aimed to include the features we have discussed in our writing, such as conjunctions, subheadings, past tense and fronted adverbials. The children worked so hard on this and completed some fantastic pieces of writing.
Maths
This week we finished our topic on addition with looking at complements to 100. We used our prior knowledge on number bonds to 10 to help us with this. We worked on using number lines to get to 100 and how we could count in 10s to achieve this.

We then looked at estimating and rounding numbers up or down to the nearest hundred. We used this to help us estimate answers to addition and subtraction problems.
History
We have started our new history topic on the Romans! This week we have looked at what an empire is and why the Romans were so successful in building an empire. We discussed the use of armies, weapons and land and sea connections.
