What a great first week we have had back, Kingfishers! Read below to see what we have been up to this week...
English
We have started a new book for our English topic which is The Magic Finger.
We will be building up to writing a diary entry from the point of view of one of the characters and developing the different skills we need to do this.
This week, we have read up to page 37 and looked at sequencing the events of the story. We then looked at rewriting sentences from the book but changing them into the first-person. Later on in the week, we incorporated the simple past tense into our writing and looked at how we could apply this to the book.
Maths
This week we have started our perimeter topic. We have been looking at mm, cm and m. We looked at how 1cm= 10mm and used this to work out what different lengths are in mm and cm. Have a look at some reasoning questions be have looked at below:

Geography
This week we have started our geography topic on Iceland. We discussed the different features we would find in Iceland, such as The Blue Lagoon, Geysirs and the Hallgrimskirkja church. We then looked at 4 figure grid references and the different symbols used on maps. We created our own key for a map of Iceland and used popular tourist attractions and features to inspire us.
