In Maths, Year 5 have done their Place value assessment and begun their new unit of Addition and Subtraction. Can you explain this True or False question to your grown-up?

In English the children read their stories to the Key Stage 1 and Early Years children. It was lovely to see them take such pride in their stories and see how much the younger children enjoyed hearing their stories. This unit was finished off by the children creating persuasive posters and radio adverts for their books.
We have also now begun our new unit in English focusing on Biographies. We looked at an example biography and identified the features that are typical to this genre of text. Can you remember any of these features and explain them to your grown up with some examples?
In History we learnt about the cameraman of the Tudor times, Hans Holbein, and how he was the catalyst for the end of Henry VIII’s fourth marriage. We then created our own Hans Holbein portrait, focusing on the fine details that he was famous for.
Science involved us looking at the attributes or characteristics that animals have, that they have developed due to the habitat or environment they live in. Can you remember why camels have such big hooves, or why polar bears have little ears?
