WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week Commencing 21.4.25

A massive welcome back to everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break. The children have been filling me in on all their Easter activities, and have been enthusiastic to get back into learning! Look below to find out what we have been up to this week.

Maths

In our Maths learning, we have started our new unit on Multiplication and Division. We have started this unit by learning how to count in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s. We learned that when we count in 2s, we skip every other number, and when starting from 0, the numbers are always even! When counting in 10s from any number, the tens change, but the ones stay the same. When counting in 5s, numbers end in 1 5 or a 0 when counting from 0. Can you have a go at counting in 2s, 5s or 10s at home? You may even want to bring in your work to show for show and tell!

Challenge - Can you count the pictures below by counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

English

In our English learning, we have continued with our story of 'Bridge'. We learned how we can use the suffix 'est' to describe characters from the story. We created some fantastic words to describe some of the characters from the story! Have a look at the characters below, and the suffixes in the grid. Which of these words best describes what character from the story?

We also wrote a section of the story using these suffixes, exclamation marks and question marks. The children produced some fantastic sentences!

Science

Unfortunately our work on Kenya has come to a close, but we are now entering our exciting STEM term devoted to Science and DT. For the next few weeks, we are focussing on humans and animals. This week, we looked at the human body. We learned that the human is made up of many body parts, each body part has a specific job that helps us to live. We learned new body part names such as shin, thigh, Adam's apple and forehead. We did a fun activity where we drew around a person and labelled the body parts. Here are our creations below!

Phonics and Spellings

This week, we have been revising the ee, ea, eaand er digraphs. Please use the Monster Phonics sheets to consolidate any sounds taught this week that your child may struggle with.

Spellings (available on Spelling Shed)

Have a lovely weekend!
