Our Learning
I cannot believe we are so close to the end of the Autumn term already! This week has involved recipes, pottery and charity!
English -
It is 'Hot Write' week again in the Seals class, meaning the children have been busy writing and editing their newspaper reports. We have some very interesting storylines with fitting headlines to capture the audience's attention. We will publish our newspaper reports for our writing wall next week.
Maths -
We have completed our ratio unit of work this week. It has involved identifying and drawing similar shapes, solving ratio problems, and solving proportion problems. We will be consolidating our Maths learning so far this year through festive Maths activities next week!
History -
After researching various aspects of ancient Greek arts and culture last week, we have chosen to focus on art in more depth this week. We have learned about the significance of ancient Greek pottery/vases and worked with a partner to create our own which showcases our favourite concepts from our topic work this term. Some of us also created an ancient Greek shields, using symbols to represent something important to us.
Homework –
Children have not been given any homework this week. Instead, they have been given their practice papers to take home and look over. If children need any further support with these, please do not hesitate to email. Children are encouraged to read and practise their spellings/times tables alongside this.
