It's nearly Christmas! What an exciting week we have had. We went to watch the pantomime at Pears Hall which the children really enjoyed. We had the privilege of watching Robin's dress rehearsal which was brilliant
Maths
In Maths this week we have been learning to divide 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit method using short division or, as we call it in Kingfishers, the bus stop method. First of all, we looked at how we could work out division sums using partitioning.
We then moved onto using the bus stop method. The children started by grouping to help them work out the answers.
English
In English this week we have been learning how to write in first person. Our book we are looking at is 'The Magic Finger' and the children loved reading this. They particularly found Mrs Winter turning into a cat very funny! We made predictions on what they thought the magic finger would turn the Greggs into. These predictions were very good and made us all laugh.
Science
In Science we have looked at muscles and what we use different muscles for. We spoke about the different activities which the children enjoyed to do and discussed the different muscles we use for these in our bodies. The children then completed some amazing work on this. They could all explain the different muscles in our bodies which we use.
