With Christmas quickly approaching, the children in Kingfishers have continued to work really hard!

Maths

This week we finished our multiplication topic and completed our end of topic assessment. We then moved onto looking at how we could use the column method to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. The children chose which chilli question they wanted to start on and worked hard to complete these. 

The children worked really hard with these and focused hard on using their times table skills to answer reasoning questions. 

English

This week we completed our Hot Writes. I was really impressed with the persuasive adverts the children wrote as many of them had included the persuasive techniques we had spoken about. We then spent time editing them and the class worked really hard to correct missing punctuation, spellings and to expand on their writing. 

History

In History we learnt about significant people in Roman Times. We looked at Boudicca! We looked at the agreement that King Pasutagus made with the Romans and whether the Romans honoured this agreement (Hint: they didn't!) 

We then learnt how Boudicca responded this...she wasn't very happy! 

The class then created a wanted poster, including information on what Boudicca did to the Romans and how they reacted. Who do you think won?
